Project Overview:
Layne GeoConstruction designed and installed a total of 498 double corrosion protected anchors to stabilize existing 600 and 1200 foot long locks. Anchor loads and types ranged from 75 kips to 1,652 kips, and from 1” grade 150 ksi to 47 strand 270 ksi tendons, respectively.

Corrosion protection was provided using corrugated sheathing in the bond zone and smooth polyethylene sheathing in the bonded zone. Specialty drill equipment was designed to accommodate limited access anchor locations. Horizontal bars were installed from exterior lock face using a platform drill hung from a 40 ton crane.
