Project Overview: |
|
|
Jet Grouting was the ground improvement method selected subsequent to a landfill
slope failure. Jet grouting provided the required resistance to shear in a soft
clay layer underlying the landfill. Jet grout columns were installed to about 30
feet in depth and covered over 75,000 square feet of landfill berms.
Real-time monitoring of the jet grout parameters was utilized as one of the primary
means of quality control for the project. Layne GeoConstruction worked with two drill
rigs and jet grout plants so as to meet the demanding schedule while navigating
through difficult site access and addressing sensitive environmental concerns.
