|
Project Overview: |
|
Layne was contracted for the installation of 112, 10 inch diameter micropiles to support new foundations for a
multipurpose venue at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York. Micropiles were chosen over other
options as the foundation support to prevent damage to an existing building from vibration. Multiple crews and
drill rigs were utilized to complete Layne’s portion of the project in less than 3 months.
Layne installed 75 ton and 32.5 ton micropiles to depths of 110 feet and 98 feet, respectively. A total of nearly
12,000 linear feet of micropiles were installed for the project.
