Drilled Micropiles |
Foundation support of 168 drilled micropiles is installed in just under 10 weeks.
Project Overview: |
Layne GeoConstruction designed and constructed 168 drilled micropiles to act as foundation support
for selective catalytic reactor units. The drilled micropiles were installed with three different
drill rigs, each designed to accommodate both low-headroom and unlimited headroom conditions.
The drilled micropiles were drilled to an average depth of 58 feet. The piles were advanced through
stiff clays, weathered rock and solid rock. Prior to production, Layne installed and tested a drilled
micropile to 200% of the design load, 600 kips in compression and 300 kips in tension.
