Project Overview: |
|
The redevelopment of a former Navy Pier at Pier T of Port of Long Beach into a modern container facility
required removal of a substantial amount of buried structures including the dry dock left behind by Navy
operations. Stone columns were designed to stabilize the underwater slope of the platform deck for the
container facility.
Layne GeoConstruction successfully installed over 1.300 dry bottom feed stone columns through hydraulical
fill and alluvia deposits with numerous man-made obstructions, including sheet pile walls and boulders.
